Welcome to Stunning Samish Island

This beautiful Samish Island home for sale is available to anyone looking for an amazing waterfront property in western Washington and loves to be close to the beach! Don’t know much about Samish Island? Read on…

Samish Island is a picturesque drive-on dead end (no outlet) island in Skagit County that is the starting point to the famous San Juan Islands. Think of it…no Ferry hassles! Its close proximity to the airports of Seattle, Bellingham and Skagit while being near Interstate I-5 lends itself as a desirable location that is close to city life while still situated in the country for natural peace and solitude.

The Island boasts amazing sunrises and sunsets, beaches for crabbing, clamming and fishin. There is a close county park with play areas, tennis and basketball courts. Being a dead end island leaves minimal traffic making its roads into an ideal walking, jogging and biking trail system. It also has amazing views of the water, wildlife (such as Bald Eagles and sea birds), and the distant mountain peaks of Baker, Rainer, Canada and the Olympic Mountains.

Skagit Valleys mild winters and great summers allows for a vast array of outdoor activities. Depending on the season you can Kayak, water ski, wakeboard, hike, bike and boat to the San Juan Islands. You can also boat to the near-by historic towns of Laconner and Fairhaven in Bellingham for a great lunch or dinner. (as listed in Sunsets Magazine Aug 2009) In the winter it is a close drive to Mt. Baker, Stevens Pass, or Whistler, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver Canada. Activities include  sledding, snow boarding, skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling and much more!

Even though this spectacular water-front home is located on the peaceful Samish Island, it is located in a 6 to 20 mile radius of some of the best restaurants and bakeries this state has to offer. The views and hiking trails of the Chuckanut Mountains are nothing to laugh about either as it was voted by Coastal Living Magazines Sept. 2009 issue as on of the most beautiful seaside drives of the West Coast. Also within that 20 mile radius are 2 airports, 4 golf courses, 2 casinos and the towns of Edison, Burlington, Mount Vernon, Laconner, Anacortes, Sedrowolley, Fairhaven and Bellingham (each with their unique style and personality).
